Daniil Kharms was an avant-gardist and poet of the absurd, whose short stories are transformed into chapters in this animation that emphasises the charm of this Russian writer’s surreal and enticing world.
Svetlana Andrianova makes this short film that uses, to excellent effect, the short stories of Daniil Kharms, a Russian absurdist and avant-garde poet, writer and dramatist accused of anti-Soviet propaganda in the 1930s. This artist embraced the ideas of Futurism and considered that what he wrote should exist outside the confinements of logic. This is the spirit of the film, which uses the unconstrained freedom offered by animation to create a series of longer or shorter and more or less wild vignettes that explore the demarcations of the possible.
