In 2023, the first edition of IndieLab took place, a 3-day face-to-face project development workshop, taking place between April 28 and 30.
This partnership between IndieLisboa and NOVA FCSH, aims to support the development of selected film projects, by reflecting and discussing the initial idea and motivation, point of view, narrative structure and creative vision of these projects. The goal is to enhance their insertion in the national and international markets. One of IndieLab’s priorities is to work on projects whose characters or themes belong to or are somehow related to diverse/minority identity groups, in order to enhance dialogues about inclusion and better representation of these characters in cinema. The 2024 edition took place between March 14 and 16.
In 2023, the workshop was oriented and led by Fernanda Polacow, an experienced Brazilian screenwriter and documentary filmmaker, with a master’s degree in Visual Anthropology.
