The Lisbon Screenings were launched in 2006 at IndieLisboa as a parallel activity to promote Portuguese cinema to the foreign film industry. With the creation of Portugal Film – International Portuguese Film Agency in 2015, the Lisbon Screenings became one of the main events of the film industry in Portugal, taking place during IndieLisboa.
Committed to the internationalisation of Portuguese cinema, Portugal Film promotes various activities (presence at markets and festivals and film screenings for the industry) with the aim of bringing films to festival programmers, sales agents, distributors and international exhibitors.
The Lisbon Screenings take place during the IndieLisboa festival, on Industry Days, and present a selection of short and feature portuguese films (in the final stages of completion) to film festival curators and programming teams, sales agents and distributors, among other guests invited exclusively to attend these private screenings.
