Cineclube IndieLisboa works on the formation of new audiences by organising several screenings for secondary education and university students throughout the academic year. These screenings take place in schools with which IndieLisboa has established a collaboration protocol. All screenings are presented and accompanied by the director or an element of the film’s artistic or technical crew, or a film critic or historian. At the end of each screening a debate is held, highlighting the importance and artistic, social and philosophical relevance of the presented film. The presence of the filmmakers, along with one of the festival’s programmers, is essential to help create a space for learning and growth. The Cineclube IndieLisboa screenings aim to develop the potential of cinema as an educational tool while also valuing its artistic language.
