The Portuguese Film Fund, an instrument to support the post-production of portuguese films, created in 2011. The 2023 edition consists of the usual partners: IndieLisboa – Associação Cultural, Lusófona University, Digital Mix Música e Imagem, GDA Foundation, The Yellow Color and Portugal Film – International Portuguese Film Agency.
Short or feature films can apply, regardless of genre (animation, documentary, experimental, fiction) when in the early stages of post-production, authored by portuguese directors (or foreigners with permanent residence in Portugal) and with (co-)portuguese production.
The prizes to be awarded unfold as follows:
a) Lusófona University: financial support in the amount of €1,500 awarded to a project of any length and genre;
b) Digital Mix Música e Imagem: sound post-production services for a feature film and a short film;
c) GDA Foundation: €6,000 for the creation of original music, rewarding a feature film (€ 4,000) and a short film (€ 2,000), or alternatively three short films (each €2,000);
d) The Yellow Color: two days of post-production studio image for a short film, with the technician(s) paid separately.
Until the deadline is reached, more prizes can be added. In this case, the projects already registered will be contacted regarding any additional need.
The deadline ended on March 3 and the selected projects will be announced on March 27. During the festival (April 28 to 30), the 8 selected projects will be presented to an international jury, and excerpts of the film will be shown at a the Lisbon Screenings sessions.
