A poetic exploration of three generations of women, sometimes close, sometimes distant, but always connected.
In this film, the filmmakers’ duo depicts three generations: the daughter, the mother, the grandmother. Three women who complete each other. “1, 2, 3, 4”. The letters of the mother, who has left, take her place in her absence. The two that remained, grandmother and granddaughter, live between the waiting, the joy of the return, the longing for the next departure. One day, the mother comes back, with a suitcase that tries to bring the world into it. Suddenly the house is filled with familiar, beloved, unforgettable sounds and smells. Hannah, Anna, Ana is a love letter, a tribute to the legacy of a woman who taught her daughter the experience of freedom. (Catherine Boutaud)
