In the path between the house and the church, doubt has settled. Clinging to the faint memory of the faith that once was certain, a nun repeats barren and mechanical rituals, hoping for different outcomes. In her involuntary penitence, risking the profane, she seems to fear both the abyss of mourning and the luminous power of ecstasy. 

Between the Sea and the Island is a search, an autobiographical archaeology, an essay on the relationship between an island son and his father and the sea. And there are endless layers, thoughts and memories in this space-time “between” this sea and this island.

Feeling that her mother may no longer be able to live on her own, a woman moves back to her childhood home.As she tries to adapt to the new situation, her mother continues to drift away.
