French duo Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel (Jessica Forever, Eat the Night) return with an animated short in which a cow, an elephant, a penguin, a lion, a pig, a wolf, a monkey and a rabbit try to change the world by curing the ills that afflict it.
In a natural and organic world devoid of human intervention, live-action footage of the real world is overlaid with its inhabitants, a diverse little group of CGI animals, with an aesthetic reminiscent of mass-produced cartoons, Instagram reels for fetuses, and the lights and colors of Cocomelon. On an isolated holiday away from the rest of the world, we witness the everyday clashes of these little digital animals with foul mouths and minds colonized by contemporary smog (and completely sick of this oppression). One of them is an elephant. The elephant hosts a podcast. The animals exchange ideas. They swap catchphrases. Fed up with the world. The podcast transmits ideas and catchphrases. For the island to listen, even if it is inhabited only by those who already speak. Either very funny or very sad. Both, inseparable. (Vasco Muralha)
