When everything goes wrong, all we have is a sense of humor. Jeanne and Piero want to spend the weekend in the country with their baby Fantine. After the confinement and the pandemic, they want to leave Paris. But nothing is simple for these young parents.
After the lockdown, Jeanne and Piero want to escape Paris to see the Bay of the Somme with their daughter Fantine. But the weekend will prove to be one long obstacle course — the universe simply won’t cooperate. During a very fast-paced 29 minutes, Week-end Raté will explore the possibilities of Murphy’s First Law — anything that can go wrong will go wrong — but if the roster of unrelenting misadventures to which these characters are exposed can easily lead them to exasperation, they are filmed above all with enormous hilarity and candor. The rhythm of the narration and editing, the camera movements, the music, the performance of the actors (including the wretched child), the physical humor, everything contributes to a relentless comical effect.
