A man in a not very pleasant relationship, who wants to be Superman, dreams of the romantic moments he can spend with his own Batman, or rather, a superhero resembling the dark knight.
Leo Černic brings two key ideas to a film that has many more layers than its playful facade: on the one hand, the jocular idea of a superhero with useless or fruitless powers; on the other hand, a much more personal story of falling in love with a man and all the emotions, questions and doubts that arise. This more intimate side is punctuated by a digital animation that nevertheless settles, aesthetically speaking, into a corner that is meant to be more analogue and hand-made. In the world of Pentola, our protagonist falls in love with an ordinary Batman, companion to his not-so-super Superman. Torn between a woman he comes to associate with a terrible bean soup, Pentola will have to learn to free himself from what binds him. (Ana Cabral Martins)
