COMPETITION A mother and daughter duo, Silvia and Andrea, are passionate about unidentified flying objects and have their own research group and community. Nights over the Paraná River are not complete without their study devices, trying to reach the stars.

It is estimated that in 5 billion years, the sun will become a red giant and planet Earth may cease to exist as we know it. In LUMINUM, Maximiliano Schonfeld documents a story of a mother and daughter who chase UFOs in a small town in the interior of Argentina. In this tale of encounters and also of abandonments, we enter with humor and affection through the stories of unknown objects that populate the skies of the Paraná River. In those dangerously denialist times, what matters here are the mysteries and loves of the person who observes the world by your side. With a camera that is both secure and tender, Schonfeld weaves science fiction into a hopeful family film as if looking at the sky in the hope of finding the answers of existence. It all began with a series of 16th century books on human anatomy that provide a detailed study of the inside of our bodies. Here, the camera travels through five hospitals, in Paris, and the work of surgeries and autopsies that take place there, in an immersive and sensory tour of our literal and vulnerable core, in an expressionist abstraction.
