Alexandre experiences his first mourning with his uncle’s death. Not knowing how to deal with the pain of those who stay, he faces the situation in his own way.
Alexandre is a teenager dealing with the death of a family member for the first time. To avoid being at home, where he will have to deal with the pain of others, he extends his soccer practice, takes time to observe his surroundings and loses himself in his own thoughts. It’s within the geography of the city that his process of mourning is expressed; wandering around places drawing his escape forward. Dealing with the theme of mourning with great restraint and elegance, Forever Here is a film in the “coming of age” tradition, portraying a moment of internal conflict of a young man reaching adulthood.
