Four friends have fun on the beach, while sharing stories that revolve around their experiences of not shaving.
Five girls go to the beach, walk along the sand, chat and laugh, the sea attracts them for a swim. An armpit that insinuates itself with a large tuft of hair reminds us of the film’s title: By My Hair. Between genuine scenes of a gathering and intimate testimonies dyed by the golden sunlight, these women who don’t shave will claim their choice in an uninhibited and surprising way (for its freedom, but also for its frankness, not eliminating from the speech any insecurities or fragilities). Instead of being pamphleteering, this film is, on the contrary, all celebration. It’s no small thing. It will end in jubilation — theirs and, by contagion, ours. (Cláudia Marques)
