Evoking the human, the organic and the extraordinary, Raw+Porous is a story of obsessive love and a surreal entropy of surroundings between two people who give themselves over to absolute desire.
‘Beauty will be compulsive or it won’t be’, said Breton, and this is echoed in raw+porous, which feels like a film-material, full of skin and desire. Inside the house, two women and a closeness that is explored at the table, on the sofa, in bed, sharing the pleasure that drips from the mouth, runs out and drips from the juice of the fruit that is tasted. Image frames that are paintings, dreamlike flashes and sounds that stick to the skin, and an ultra-sensorial vertigo runs through the body of the film. (Carlota Gonçalves)
The second instalment of a complex story, this raw + porous film begins where Blue (the filmmaker’s first film) left off. From the change of colour – from blue to orange, from rationality to emotion, from the absence of touch to the intense necklace of desire, from rationality to, finally, emotion. It is in this new terrain of exploration that we accompany the character played by the author. And it’s feeling every bud, every pore, every vibration, every vertigo, every touch, every sound, every shot, every image, every photograph, every perspiration, every EVERYTHING. Infinite vertigo in a film of pleasure, flavour, colour, viscosity and sensuality. Ágata Pinho has a lot to give us, but what we feel in this film is already a beautiful version of what is to come.
