Tangier is a city undergoing rapid transformation. In this film, the focus is on traditional jobs that are becoming obsolete, the slow moments and gestures that are losing their place in a modern, bustling city.
In Tangier, among many other things, there is a profession in danger of disappearing. The bleach vendors. In a way, the equivalent of the travelling sharpener in Lisbon. A tremendously beautiful film about the importance of deceleration in the world we live in, the way cities change, under the guise of eventual progress, and how the identity of a city is lost. In cities and societies there are things coming to an end every day. Thank you Hicham Gardaf for a visual and sound record and a poetic mapping of something disappearing. (Carlos Ramos)
