A film that brings two worlds into dialogue with each other: that of the online game GeoGuessr (where locations are deduced through Google Street View images) and that of Chris Marker’s filmography, the filmmaker and multimedia artist, deeply fascinated by digital technology and traveling.

The French researcher and filmmaker Chloé Galibert-Laîné takes the popular videogame GeoGuesser and fuses it with the world of films by Chris Marker, a well known traveller both with his camera and as a founder of iconic Petite Planète travel guides. The film mimics the interface and the movements of camera in the game, but instead of a random geographic locations, drops the players into some places in Chris Marker’s filmography. The film was born out of a video game scholar Guillaume Grandjean’s essay, and he is invited as one of the players in this polyphonic work that questions the modern world exploration practices in its aesthetics, images and politics.
