As real estate speculation intensifies, a small tight-knit community finds itself threatened by hidden interests.
A wave of pollution, measured drop by drop, is affecting a community whose water supply is being targeted by those who act in secret. The inhabitants live under this threat, which seeps into them like a poison that corrodes the memories they are gradually losing. People are disappearing; a sense of fear hangs in the air; a feeling of paralysis and apathy begins to take hold; people’s mannerisms change; their gaze drifts away. The atmosphere is heavy day and night, the fear grows; in a karaoke bar, a song without a voice spreads, answers are sought, voices fall silent. They are visited by strangers who want to strip them bare, to control them. The siege tightens; they must resist. (Carlota Gonçalves)
