A short film that takes us back to the nostalgic 1990s and the TV guide that accompanied the day’s broadcasts. Here, we follow a very bad day in the life of the CEO of a cable channel who sees her programming attacked by mischievous hackers.

Edible Arraignments. Gladiator Moms. Diagnosis: Death. Go Attack! Okay? Farts: Reloaded. Trolley Problem: Live! Dog Court. These are just some of the programs that flash across the screen as we spend time on this channel dedicated to guiding the viewer through the day’s broadcasts. What may start as normal American television names quickly becomes a succession of increasingly absurd examples, with constant references to series or films. This is one of the funniest aspects of Channelvue, in a short film that shows a wildly entertaining descent into madness — and (almost?) makes us feel sorry for this CEO so focused on maintaining order — that aims to satirize the violence imbued in American consumer culture. To transport us to the 1990s, a vintage Betacam, reprogrammed original Prevue Channel software and a Commodore Amiga emulator were used to create the visuals. (Ana Cabral Martins)
