Discover the funniest part of Indie.

As if the cinema programming in Lisbon cinemas wasn’t enough, IndieLisboa also came up with an IndieFun proposal that provides unique moments: IndieDate, Cinema na Piscina sessions, Boca do Inferno marathon and IndieByNigh parties.

After the success of the debut in the 2023 edition, we returned to the Penha de França Municipal Swimming Pool for a floating cinema session. The program of short films for families is joined, for the first time, by feature films for adults, with two classics that have water, or the swimming pool, as their central theme – Palombella Rossa, political satire by and with Nanni Moretti about a communist leader amnesiac who is also a water polo player; Piranha, a cult parody directed by Joe Dante, the first film to capitalize on the lineage of deadly aquatic animals inaugurated years earlier by Steven Spielberg’s Jaws.

IndieDate also returns for a blind dating experience for movie buffs. To create meetings based on the peculiarities of everyday life will above all be taken into account. Participation requires a ticket for a session (film to be released in time), answering the compatibility questionnaire and leaving the fate in the hands of the IndieCupids in our matching department.

IndiebyNight is a classic highlighting the IndieMusic programme, where the parties and concerts are born. This year, we have the first-ever IndieLisboa festival and a new official bar: the Drama Bar, an unmissable meeting point for both the team and the festival audience. In other spaces in the city, there will be events such as the After Party Esta Ambición Desmedida, a listening party to dance and pay homage to the music of global phenomenon C. Tangana, at Musicbox, whose DJ set is still a secret. A solo concert by Sallim and DJ sets will happen at NAV throughout the night. The following week, the release of the film Fado Bicha is celebrated with an intimate night in the halls of Palácio do Grilo, and after that features a DJ set by Kemetic.

Finally, and because the aftermath of the out-of-the-box sections would not be complete without the Boca do Inferno marathon, count on a night out that only ends at 6 am! The session intersperses long and short films, in a perfect balance of tension and humour, which ends with Cobweb, a metadrama by veteran Kim Jee-woon.

The full festival program will be released on the 7th and the box office will open on the 9th.
