Every year, IndieLisboa serves as a showcase for emerging new voices in Portugal, featuring an increasingly ambitious range of nationalities, whilst also providing a platform for the recognition of established filmmakers. A film industry is defined by its constant evolution, by the emergence of voices both in agreement and in disagreement, and, above all, by the filmmaker’s political stance as an agent of change. Through cinema, one must listen, be attentive, and look around. In 2026, there will be 29 films in competition: 8 feature-length films and 21 short films, 16 of which will be world premieres.
