This Suffocating Now

These are fascistic times — in discourse, in images, in intimacy. Vika Kirchenbauer questions the actions (and inactions) of the German state in the face of escalating violence. Drawing on observations and recordings from the past three years, this is a deeply personal essay, irregular in rhythm — like the very cadence of thought itself.
