Two men, long-time loserish friends, go for a walk with fateful consequences through the Michigan forest. One wants to get to their destination quickly, the other wants to enjoy it and make stops, whether necessary or not. The underlying idea is that there really is no turning back. They’ve made a pact and they’re going to go through with it. At least, that’s the idea.
Ah the male dream of making a pact with a friend where we go into the forest without a map to ███████████████ where one of us drags their feet the whole time while the other just wants to get it over with as quickly as possible. Joel Potrykus returns to IndieLisboa with Vulcanizadora but already is a festival veteran with Ape (2013), Buzzard (2014) and The Alchemist Cookbook (2017). Speaking of Buzzard, 10 years later, Joshua Burge and Joel Potrykus return to their Buzzard characters to fulfill a pact that I will never reveal. In fact, I’d like to make a unilateral pact between myself and whoever is reading this to not to miss out on an excellent opportunity to get to know or revisit one of the most unique filmmakers in American independent cinema.
