Vitrival is a quiet village where you’d imagine that not much would happen and people would live in harmony. At least, that’s what the two local policemen, cousins Benjamin and Little Pierre, would like it to be. The truth is stranger and more bizarre than that. On the one hand, the harmless proliferation of phallic graffiti. On the other, the unexplained suicides that are taking place. But peace remains, time passes and our heroes do their best.
Pierre and Benja are police officers in the small village of Vitrival, where everyone knows each other and crime is the rarest of occurrences. However, a mysterious wave of suicides and the appearance of sexually explicit graffiti begin to torment the local population. This forces Pierre and Benja to begin an investigation through which we experience an intimate portrait of Vitrival, its rituals, its inhabitants, its problems and the changes brought by the passing of time. Using real locations and non-professional actors, Noëlle Bastin and Baptiste Bogaert try to capture with an almost documentary-like lens a particular way of life, and despite the seriousness of the themes that traverse the film, the duo’s gaze is filled with humor, levity and tenderness.
