Marie-Sarah Piron weaves an absolutely charming, poetic and entertaining short film. The colours are vibrant, and you can feel the texture of the 16mm film it’s shot on, but above all, what animates this film and elevates it to the pinnacle is the use of humour and operatic lyricism to tell a story that, if not mundane, is at least quite simple. The gardener is the conductor, but it’s the flowers as the choir that have to look after his interests and it’s within this game that the director creates 4 minutes of pure delight.
