Tim was just trying to make a short film when he comes across the strange and bombastic Stéphane (starring Lucas Pastor), who insists on being part of his film. Convinced that he has the perfect subject for his short, Tim follows him on an increasingly eccentric adventure that is both hilarious and terrifying.
A satirical found-footage hybrid and a demented mockumentary, Stephane focuses on an inexperienced director desperate for a hit and a bigger than-life character, the Stephane of the title, and how a random encounter can spiral into an escalation of bizarreness. This is a fun, eccentric film that uses the archetypes of the genres it explores against the viewer’s expectations in a journey into the depths of the mind of a very peculiar mythomaniac.
