Lil Nas X (Montero Lamar Hill) rose to stardom with “Old Town Road”, a single mixing rap and country that topped the Billboard charts in the United States for 19 weeks. This was followed by his public honesty about his homosexuality, numerous awards and status as a figure in the LGBTQI+ community. In this documentary, he talks in the first person about his journey, success and current moment — chronicling his 2022 tour.

Shot over the course of 60 days, this diaristic film follows Lil Nas X (Montero Lamar Hill) during his first-ever headlining USA tour in 2022. An intimate portrait of a Grammy-winning artist who navigates his identity, family, expectations, desire for acceptance, self-discovery and his place as a black and queer artist. A personal journey through concerts with crowds of fans. As the directors, Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel, say: “We were impressed by the humanity of an artist who while inspiring so many to accept their queer identities, is still learning to fully embrace his own identity, behind the show is a person looking for the same things as many of his fans.” (Helena César)
