Rui Carlos, by Margarida Paia, is a film that calls forth memories and evokes possible intergenerational connections with neighbors—those unexpected moments that arise in neighborhoods where people live close to one another. In the case of Lisbon, a city where young and old often lead separate daily routines, the artistic project Correspondências, developed by the association Tanque, aims to bring these generations closer together.
In this context, a morning of cinema and tenderness is proposed, encouraging discussions between children and their grandparents (or older friends!) about each person’s childhood games, in an activity that bridges art and cinema. At the same time, it will be possible to learn about the work that has been carried out with children and elderly residents in the parishes of Misericórdia and Santo António.
Early arrivals are invited to knit and chat in the Foyer of Cinema São Jorge.
