IndieLisboa 2026 is now drawing to a close, promising to return in full force in 2027, running from 29 April to 9 May.
Left behind are films, memories, encounters, the darkness of the screening room and the light of the happy hours, and more than 36,000 attendees – a figure that makes this the third-best edition of the festival ever, with a total of 40 sold-out screenings – which this year featured enhanced accessibility measures in partnership with the MEO Foundation, a collaboration that IndieLisboa hopes to continue.
After twelve Official Awards and five Non-Official Awards were presented, it is time to reveal the Audience Awards.
The Audience Award for Feature Film (€1,000) went to Mulheres de Abril by Raquel Freire, featured in the Rizoma section.
The Audience Award for Short Film (€750) was awarded to Intersecting Memory, by Shayma’ Awawdeh, featured in the International Competition.
The IndieJúnior Audience Award was presented to Dueto, by Léo Brunel.
I would like to remind you that although the 11-day festival has officially come to an end, there are still three days of Award-Winners’ Screenings – from today until Wednesday, 11–13 May, at Cinema Ideal – where you can watch or rewatch the films that stood out most at the 23rd edition of IndieLisboa. The programme is listed here.
