In addition to the more than 200 films on the program, we’re also throwing a party.
Indie’s nighttime lineup features Damas and Casa do Comum as official bars, along with four parties that complement the IndieMusic section.
We’ve already had a night of concerts at Damas in honor of the pioneer of rock in Portugal, Zurita de Oliveira. The party is over, but there’s still a chance to see the film Quem Tem Medo de Zurita de Oliveira? by Francisca Marvão, which will be screened on May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Cinema Ideal. Sun Ra Jam Session
As for the upcoming events: on May 3, following the film about the visionary Sun Ra, there will be a jam session night at Badassery—a cosmic celebration featuring DJs and live music, inspired by the jazz master’s free spirit. More information on the event page.
Venenus Party
On May 8, the Damas will host a party inspired by the film Venus, from the National Competition. An evening of dancing with Venga Venga and Casal Maravilha. More information here.
Closing Party
To bring the festival to a spectacular close, Casa do Capitão is hosting a party on May 9 featuring three dance floors and a variety of musical styles. The evening is inspired by three films from the IndieMusic section: Massa Funkeira, Bubbling Baby, and The Blind Couple From Mali. To learn more, click here.
