Whether it’s for a romantic date or a movie-loving friendship, IndieDate is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to make new connections during the festival.
This year, the event takes place on May 2 at 9:30 p.m. at Cinema Ideal, featuring a screening of Erupcja by Pete Ohs. A feature film about love and volcanic relationships, starring British singer and actress Charli XCX.
After the film, to break the ice, there’s a romantic (or not-so-romantic) activity hosted by Diogo Faro, based on a quiz you can already take here.
Afterward, those in the mood can head to the Festa da Mensagem, the traditional Purex club party, hosted by Manel Moreira.
For those who aren’t familiar with it, the Festa da Mensagem works like this: at the entrance, each person receives a sticker with a number, which must be kept visible. During the party, you can leave folded messages stuck to the wall, identified with the number of the person they’re meant for. If you find a message with your number, you can pick it up and find out who wanted to leave you a note—or try to guess, if it’s unsigned. It can be a party for flirting or for friendship; it’s up to the people.
