After all, what do we have left besides records and books? What remains beyond the debris of the people we have been and wanted to be? The Loneliest Man in Town, by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel, is the film chosen for the Opening Session of IndieLisboa 2026, which will take place at Cinema São Jorge on April 30 at 7:00 p.m.
It marks the return of the Italian-Austrian duo to the festival after they were awarded the Distribution Prize in 2010 for La Pivellina.
For the Closing Session, the festival presents The History of Concrete, the first feature film by American director John Wilson, known for the comedy series How To with John Wilson.
Here, he makes his feature film debut with a bold premise: after attending a Hallmark workshop on how to write and sell a romantic TV comedy, why not try replicating the strategy in a documentary about concrete?
The History of Concrete will be screened at Culturgest on May 10 at 9:30 p.m.
