IndieByNight – An extension of IndieMusic
The IndieMusic section sets the tone for IndieLisboa’s parties and celebrations.
On May 1, at Damas, following the screening of Francisca Marvão’s film Quem Tem Medo de Zurita de Oliveira?, we’ll celebrate the legacy of this pioneer of Portuguese rock with a concert featuring various performances, to be announced soon.
The Closing Party takes place at Casa Capitão on May 9 and features three films from the music section, filling three rooms of the Lisbon venue with distinct musical styles: The Blind Couple From Mali, by Ryan Marley, about the Malian duo Amadou & Mariam; Bubbling Baby, by Sharine Rijsenburg, a documentary about the bubbling music genre, founded by Caribbean immigrants in the Netherlands; and Massa Funkeira, by Ana Rieper, focusing on the funk-putaria phenomenon that emerged from Brazilian favelas.
The festival’s evening program kicks off on April 18 with the IndieLisboa Warm-Up at Purex in Bairro Alto.
For social gatherings, the official bars for 2026 are Casa do Comum and Damas.
IndieDate – Romantic dates (or not)
An opportunity for anyone looking to make new connections during the festival. Whether it’s for a romantic date or a friendship with fellow film lovers.
This year, IndieDate presents Erupcja, by Pete Ohs, at Cinema Ideal. A feature film about love and volcanic relationships starring British singer and actress Charli XCX.
The screening will be followed by a quiz and the Festa da Mensagem, the traditional party of the Purex club, hosted by Manel Moreira.
“Cinema at the Pool” is back for another edition
For the fourth consecutive year, we’re back to floating and relaxing with Cinema at the Pool.
In partnership with the Penha de França Municipal Pool, the aquatic screenings will take place on May 2 and 3, with options for both children and adults.
In the evening, feature films ideal for adults will be screened: Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati, 1953), Barbarella (Roger Vadim, 1968), and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, 1975).
On Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and afternoon, the program includes a selection of short films from the IndieJunior lineup, aimed at children and families.
Mouth of Madness Marathon 411’
The Mouth of Madness Marathon returns to Cinema Ideal for a late-night screening of bizarre films, featuring some of the festival’s strangest titles.
Over the course of 6 hours, 7 short films and 3 feature-length films will be screened: Camp by Avalon Fast, Fucktoys by Annapurna Sriram, and We Put the World to Sleep by Adrian Țofei.
