IndieJúnior is the IndieLisboa section for children, schools, and families, where cinema is discovered as a space for sharing, leisure, and connection, nurturing audiences from 6 months to 15 years old. The program, organized by age groups, combines films and themes that stimulate imagination, empathy, and critical thinking, offering shared experiences with adults, and activities that enhance participation and support the development of our audience.
This edition is all about adventure! There will be eight competition screenings; Baby Cinema, full of color and texture; Pool Cinema, promising a splash in front of the screen; and a feature film about solidarity and facing difficult changes. There will also be workshops and playful activities, talks with filmmakers.
With a growing commitment to making screenings more accessible, this edition includes films for schools with descriptive subtitles, as well as the feature film Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake, presented in Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) for all audiences.
As in previous editions, IndieJúnior also extends beyond movie theaters. On May 9, the now-traditional Outdoor Party will take place in the garden of the Palácio Galveias Library, this time in partnership with Lisboa 5L – International Festival of Portuguese Literature and Language.
