The IndieLisboa trophy: creativity and sustainability in collaboration

The trophies for the 23rd edition of IndieLisboa are already being produced and are the result of a collaboration between the festival, BOATO Woodworking Projects, and FabLab Lisboa (Fabrication Laboratory), involving various entities from the maker ecosystem.

The project was conceived and initially prototyped at FabLab Lisboa, whose mission focuses on prototyping and supporting the materialization of ideas.

Each trophy is the result of a collaborative process that combines experimentation, digital manufacturing, and sustainability.

The piece consists of two parts (base and body) and uses reused and recycled materials, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to responsible practices.

The body of the trophy represents a stylized crow and was designed by the TOYNO studio.

Trophy production stages:

Base production
The base is made of reused wood and prepared by the BOATO carpentry workshop. The choice of material ensures that each trophy has its own unique characteristics.

CNC machining
The raven is produced from a material resulting from the recycling of wood scraps and CNC machined by the FABLAB team in Porto de Mós.

Manual assembly and finishing
After digital cutting, DHOLETEC and FabLab glue the two sides of the sculpture together.

Painting and lacquering
The company JONARTH carries out the lacquering, ensuring a uniform and resistant finish.

Final assembly
Final assembly of the two pieces (base and crow) by DHOLETEC and FabLab Lisboa.

Engraving
Laser engraving of the categories and winners is carried out by DHOLETEC and FabLab Lisboa.

The result is a trophy that represents a network of sustainable and creative collaboration.
