Since September 2025, the Tanque Association has been developing the ‘Correspondências’ project, funded by the BIP/ZIP program – Priority Intervention Neighborhoods and Areas.
IndieJúnior supports this initiative, which aims to create intergenerational connections through cinema: groups of different age groups (children, young people, and seniors) are invited to make film letters about their lives and the places they live.
The project involves the Passos Manuel School Group (9th grade at Passos Manuel High School and 3rd grade at São José Elementary School), which interacts with day centers located near the schools (the Laura Alves Center and the Santa Catarina Center).
From design to sound recording, this initiative encourages new forms of artistic expression, contributing to the construction of a more attentive, supportive, and cohesive community. Letters about yesterday, today, and tomorrow are exchanged between the intergenerational groups. Based on this correspondence, each participant is invited to try out different roles in the filmmaking process—sound, photography, production, and directing—in a true collective creative experience.
The ultimate goal is to produce two short films, the result of this human and artistic process.
´Correspondências´ is an initiative developed in partnership with IndieJúnior, the Parish Council of Santo António, the Parish Council of Misericórdia, Cinema Ideal, the Passos Manuel School Group, the Laura Alves Social Center, the Santa Catarina Social Center, ETIC, among other partners.
