Mother’s Day at IndieJunior

To celebrate this cherished day, Indiejunior has prepared lots of special sessions to spend the day with the family.

At the cinema in the pool, the theme of motherhood and care will set the tone for many dives into the water cinema.

This special session starts with bedtime and when we close our eyes; what do we see when we Somni with our imagination and enter the realm of dreams? Then, father and daughter, together on a journey above the treetops, on the high seas, in the deep ocean, on a bike ride, in a hot air balloon, always in motion, to space; a different space, that of Memory. After his we discover how magical it is to cure loneliness by creating an extraordinary friend? That is exactly what happens in the Homeland and it will take a lot of care to take care of this companion. Almost finished is the short film Mum is Always Right, which tells the story of people who have to make extraordinary efforts to face the difficulties that life has thrown at them, however unusual they may be. Finally, Until Heaven Takes More or Less 15 Minutes, brings together two mothers and three noisy children on a short car trip; luckily, the journey to heaven is not long.

Baby cinema

There are also many lap cinema sessions available for babies taking their first steps into the world of cinema. Here we turn the cinema into a sensory experience full of emotions for babies from 6 months to 3 months.

The session begins with Foxtale, who is hungry. But isn’t it true that the last berry he finds is at the top of a tree? Next we meet Mr. Fragile who, being made of colored wooden blocks, likes to do the same things as any other creature! Each animal moves at its own pace, and in this film we will see that this pace can be slow, Like the Snail, or faster, like the hare, the leopard or the ostrich. And why does Mr. Night Have a Day Off want to change the day? Well, when we don’t like something, we have to change it! To end the session we are invited to see a variety of animals that make up an adorable Mobile. However, a cow, who is alone, when she manages to capture the attention of a little mouse, will try a weight redistribution maneuver — to have more friends.

Shorts +8 and Shorts +10

On Mother’s Day, we’ve also prepared two sessions of short films for ages 8 and up.

Guy comes across something unexpected while flying through the forest: – “I Found a Box”… But an abandoned box, found, can be used in many ways. A girl in Tehran, Rose, decides to rebel against a tradition: the sacrifice of lambs. She will try to save every Lamb she can. In Lola and the Loud Piano, Lola and a friend decide to build a machine to better communicate with her brother, Simon, who seems to live in his own world.

In Prato de Resistência we witness a protest against an anti-consumerist struggle, where food and eating are the tools of protest. Freeride em C is a short film that takes us on a carefree and abstract dance. We are on a snow-white peak and the immaculate scenery is interrupted by the excitement of skiing down the mountain. In Autocarro we see the reality of migration as a fantastic experience. We follow Agata, a girl who leaves her home country alone to go and live in another. She takes advantage of the journey to write, until her pencil falls and she is forced to talk to the other passengers. Four sisters whose parents insist on taking the same photo of their four daughters every year is the theme for the film Quatro em Linha, in which Clara narrates the childhood memories that she associates with each of the photographs, reflecting on each of the sisters.

Come and spend Sunday with us as a family and celebrate maternal care and affection among friends and family!
