The second moment already announced for IndiebyNight 2022 is the Escape-ism concert, at Musicbox.
Called the “found-sound dream-drama”— is a music group comprised of Alexandra Cabral & Ian Svenonious (founder of The Make-Up and central figure of the Washington punk scene since the 1980s), so radical, so far out, and so uncompromising that they are considered “beneath the underground.” Their brand of of music, comprised of a wail, a strum, a sob, and a thump, is called “minimum rock n roll”; Escape-ism is electric, exciting, and the opposite of bland, insipid corporate indie rock. Escape-ism lives in LA and has recently created a record called RATED Z on their own label RADICAL ELITE.
