The next IndieLisboa – International Film Festival has new dates. The 17th edition of the festival will take place between August 25th and September 5th, 2020 in the usual venues: Cinema São Jorge, Culturgest, Cinema Ideal and Cinemateca Portuguesa (screenings at the Cinemateca Portuguesa may change, as the institution is usually closed to the public in August). There will also be space for some surprise screenings. Thank you to our partners who welcome us in this new calendar, thus making the festival possible.
Having in mind the effort and dedication of the entire team throughout the last year to make this edition come true, the idea of switching to a digital format of the festival would not meet our expectations, nor those of the public. Organising a festival means screening films and having direct contact with our audience, filmmakers and other professionals, creating special moments of sharing and communion for a discussion of different points of view.
Symbolically, this year, the full program will be announced on the day the festival should begin, on April 30th. It is our form of resistance in these difficult times. Along the spring and summer, more news about the 2020 edition of IndieLisboa will be announced.
