IndieJúnior: for a more accessible festival

IndieJúnior attended the 4th “Todos Juntos Podemos Ler” Meeting, which took place on March 6, 2026, at the Fórum Picoas, a MEO venue in Lisbon.

In this context, the upcoming edition of IndieJúnior was highlighted; it will take place from April 30 to May 10 in Lisbon and reinforces its commitment to inclusivity with the support of the MEO Foundation.

At the school level, short film screenings for middle and high school students will now include accessibility features, specifically descriptive captions and interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language, aimed at deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals.

The event brought together educators, specialists, librarians, and families around a central theme: the promotion of inclusive reading. Throughout the day, strategies were discussed to make reading accessible to everyone, including people with cognitive difficulties and other specific needs.

The program included lectures, roundtables, and project presentations, promoting the sharing of best practices and reflection on topics such as easy reading, accessibility in education, and the role of different languages in creating inclusive experiences.
