IndieLisboa 2020: Closed Programme and Open Ticket Office

The schedule for IndieLisboa 2020 is closed and can be consulted here. This year the festival has more than 240 films and takes place in the middle of summer, from August 25 to September 5, with voices that cross sections, languages, languages, and this year they emphasize that they are here to stay. It has never been more important than now to exhibit, and through this, the promotion of dialogue.

Unlike other years, this edition will feature open-air cinema sessions, adding to the usual festival rooms (Cinema São Jorge, Culturgest, Cinema Ideal and Cinemateca Portuguesa) the Capitólio Cineteatro, where we will be able to see cinema on a screen with the sky as Background. Also at Cinemateca, films can be seen almost every night. The opening ceremony of the festival will start at 7 pm on the 25th of August, in the Manoel de Oliveira room at Cinema São Jorge, with La Femme de Mon Frère, the premiere of Monia Chokri, which we know from Xavier Dolan’s films, and which emanates that authorial shine of independent cinema

Anchored in a single theme, LisbonTalks are dedicated to actors and representation in the national audiovisual this year. In four free streaming conversations scheduled throughout the festival dates, an attempt will be made to take the pulse of a profoundly fertile and numerous professional class to give airtime to concerns about their work practice, such as employability issues and the desired status intermittent, as well as debating the internal role of Portuguese audiovisual in a paradigm shift in more and better representativeness, among other issues. Also noteworthy is the only conversation to take place in person, on the 27th of August on the terrace of the Cinemateca Portuguesa and in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Lisboa, entitled Forum 50 & Ousmane Sembène: cinema as a form of reflection and political action.

In the activities directed exclusively at professionals, the Lisbon Screenings program is announced, sessions where new Portuguese films finished or still to be finished looking for a world or international premiere. Highlight for the new feature films by Cláudia Alves, João Botelho, Júlio Alves and Sérgio Tréfaut, and the new short films by Clara Jost, Ico Costa, Laura Carreira, Tomás Paula Marques, among others. Lisbon Screenings are an organization of Portugal Film – International Portuguese Cinema Agency and that take place during IndieLisboa.
