Every year, seven film festivals from seven countries—Portugal, Spain, Greece, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania—select a film that becomes part of a common program. The goal is to stimulate the international circulation of these titles and bring new audiences closer to European cinema, while creating a space for dialogue between festivals, professionals, and viewers.

In addition to screenings at partner festivals, the films in the Smart7 section are accompanied by a jury composed of university students, chosen by each of the festivals involved.
