Promoting and disseminating ‘short’ cinema has been a driving force behind the various ESFN projects.

One of them was This is Short, an online streaming platform dedicated to short films, where we can find a wide range of independent productions from the European Union. On this platform, the six festivals in the network also collaborate in the occasional curation of specific programmes. Also in December, the This is Short platform will launch two cycles selected by IndieLisboa. The first programme will be a special curation by Nabil Aouad from 1 December to 1 January, and the second programme will be dedicated to the various short films that have won at the IndieLisboa festival over the years.

From this end-of-year meeting, the network hopes to bring new projects for the future and create a collective reflection on actions to be taken and challenges to be faced that are common to film festivals, also taking into account the current political and social context.

On 24, 25 and 26 November, the six festivals in the network (namely Vienna Shorts, Oberhausen, IndieLisboa, Uppsala, Go short and 25 FPS) will meet to discuss and reflect on the past year and the work the network has done over the last few months.
