However, she dreams about the policeman who recently moved into the apartment next door. What all the characters seem to share is the dissolution of their desires into thin air. This section presents a set of films that address relevant current issues, renowned filmmakers, and previews. Also worthy of mention, as happened at the last edition of the Berlinale, is <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/no-other-land\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/no-other-land\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">No Other Land<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a film by a Palestinian collective about the destruction that Israel manages to cause in its attempt to occupy larger swaths of land. The film also highlights the unique alliance between an Israeli journalist and a Palestinian activist. Thus, Brand New is for everyone who experiences cinema and not necessarily about age or school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is room for thematic and formal diversity, in a selection that covers various artistic expressions, from documentary records such as <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/we-made-a-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/we-made-a-film\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">We Made a Film<\/a><\/em><\/strong> to more classic narratives, such as the coming-of-age <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/chuvas-de-verao\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/chuvas-de-verao\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chuvas de Ver\u00e3o<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, the experimental cinema of <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/anima\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/anima\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anima<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, the feminist animation of <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/clotilde\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/clotilde\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clotilde<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and even the video clip <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/sunflowers-a-strange-feeling-of-existential-angst\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/sunflowers-a-strange-feeling-of-existential-angst\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sunflowers \u2013 A Strange Feeling of Existential Angst<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:30%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-6 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" data-id=\"64816\" src=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/noticiaabertura_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64816\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/noticiaabertura_1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/noticiaabertura_1-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">I&#8217;m not everything I want to be<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:40%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The festival starts with <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/im-not-everything-i-want-to-be\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/im-not-everything-i-want-to-be\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I&#8217;m Not Everything I Want to Be<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a film about Libu\u0161e Jarcovj\u00e1kov\u00e1, the \u201cNan Goldin of Czechoslovakia\u201d, and the suffocating environment experienced after the Prague Spring of 1968. The closing section presents <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/dream-scenario\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/indielisboa.com\/en\/film\/dream-scenario\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dream Scenario<\/a><\/em><\/strong> with which Kristoffer Borgli returns for a new black comedy accompanied by Nicholas Cage.
