THE UNCONVENTIONAL WORK OF ALEXIS LANGLOIS<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alexis Langlois started making films by filming their friends, confronting their own personal demons and expressing a tenacious rebellion. This resulted in a series of short films that gradually outlined Langlois\u2019 political, satirical and poetic glittercore signature. After the success of the shorts, Terror, Sisters !<\/em> (FIFIB\u2019s Grand Prize 2019) and The Demons of Dorothy<\/em> (Locarno\u2019s Silver Leopard 2021), which screened at over a hundred film festivals around the world, Alexis made their feature film debut with the musical fantasy Queens of Drama<\/em> (Cannes Critics’ Week in 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUSIC COPYRIGHT AND THE USE OF MUSIC IN AUDIOVISUAL CONTENT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with the Creative Europe Information Centre MEDIA Portugal, we will be organising a masterclass moderated by Susana Costa Pereira (CIEC) with guests Arturo Olea and Peter Stephens from Music Library &SFX (Spain), who will talk about music rights and the use of music in audiovisual content, explaining all the elements to take into account when using music for optimal production of audiovisual content. Specific support in this area will also be discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brief:<\/strong> Music is undoubtedly a fundamental element in the creation of audiovisual content, its expressive and narrative function giving it a crucial role. To create the optimum score various factors come into play: context, time, budget, rights, different musical resources. In this talk, we will offer invaluable information, insight and advice on the use of music in cinematic and audiovisual production. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduated in Communication Sciences, has been working in the cultural sector for the last 28 years in public and private sectors. Since 2014 has been working for the creative Europe Programme, first in the Culture strand, and since 2019 as executive coordinator and responsible for the MEDIA strand.

Peter Stephens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in Madrid, he is a partner at Music Library &SFX \/ Acorde Music Supervision. He curates MLSFX\u2019s in-house catalogue and works in audiovisual production via AltContent. He co-produced the 2023 documentary My Way Out<\/em>, directed by Izaskun Arandia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
